Jaco Kriek
Jaco has more than 33 years’ project finance, mining, energy and executive experience. After his Auditing Articles at KPMG, he was appointed as a Financial Analyst at the IDC in 1992 and appointed as the Executive Vice President – Projects in 2000. He was responsible for Mining, Industrial, Oil & Gas, Infrastructure and Agricultural Projects.
He led the IDC Finance team in the US$2 billion Mozal Aluminium Smelter near Maputo, Mozambique and assisted and presented a Harvard Business School Case Study on the Project. During his time at the IDC, he was a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of Foskor, Hulett Aluminium and Mozal.
From 2004 – 2010 he was CEO and Executive Director of the Pebble Bed Modular Nuclear Reactor Company (PBMR) for six years and is still a 45% shareholder in Ennex Developments (Pty) Ltd, a Project Development Company, focusing on power, energy and water.
From 2015 – 2017 Jaco was the Head – Mining & Metals Finance, Africa at Standard Bank, Investment Banking and he was the Standard Bank representative on the Phembani Board.
In 2018 Jaco was appointed as a Director at Search Partners International and appointed as Managing Director in 2021.
Jaco is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and holds a BCom Hons, MCom, FCMA England & Wales and completed the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD, France
